Are You Sure You Want to Apply?

We at VIPtutor.com are highly selective. Apply only if you believe that you can provide substantial educational benefits and enhancements to our students. Teaching is an art and we need to make sure that you are only doing it effectively but also efficiently . We also follow a policy of having only the best tutors available who understand how to properly and professionally do their duty. While some of our competitors go the route of claiming to have the cheapest services, we instead strive to have the highest quality, so while our rates may be higher than others offer, no one can match our skill to help our students succeed; as such we are very selective in our tutors and we do not employ just anyone, so we do have an application process that you would need to go through.

A Good Profile has More than Just Your Degree

Your application consists from two parts: first part for our company to see and the second part is designed for the eyes of our client. You probably know well how to do the first part, so we will concentrate on the most important second section. The gist of the second section is to explain to our clients why they should choose you as a tutor for their children. To do this you should make a profile which will be available to our potential clients. There is not a special format for the profile; we want you to be original. It should include your short bio, and most importantly, your educational style description (your educational approach, philosophy, techniques, any stories from your experience you believe will be appropriate to share with your students and their families etc). The goal is to disclose your personality. We also found that nice addition of form of description of your personal life elements may add some personal touch to your presentation and increase the chances that a family will choose you before other tutors.

In this profile we would like you to include your past experiences of tutoring or teaching, your level of education with all relevant degrees, and your philosophy of what makes a good tutor. In addition to your professional information, we do recommend you include some information about your personal self, such as your hobbies, or aspirations.

Some people are afraid that since we have tutors in our profile with outstanding credentials like a PhD. From Harvard and 30 year of tutoring experience then you will not have a chance for employment. It is not true. The reason for this is spacial: we are trying to make sure that the tutor does not have to travel more than 10 miles to their respective meeting location. You may do a simple calculation ( or ask a math tutor in your team to help) , and you  will figure it out that the odds of finding such a tutor near you are exceedingly small, and even in the case that one is by you, she would only be able to tutor so many students.. Remember that while there are myriads of individuals who want to teach very few really are good teachers (otherwise our tutoring business will not exist and every one will get beautiful education out of our public schools.)

We Find the Students for You

If we find that you have a good grasp of what makes a good tutor and that you are capable of tutoring, then we will work to provide you with students in your local area, referring students brought in by national advertisements (whom happen to be in your proximity) to you and by providing and helping you maintain a segment of our website describing yourself. But keep in mind that advertisement is very expensive and in order for as to expend our services we need to make sure that our client are really happy with our services. There are two major factor which can make our clients happy: good grades at school and the student enjoying their learning. Learning should be enjoyable; if you do not know or do not believe in your heart that math can be very exciting or studying history is extremely pleasurable then simply do not apply with us (and hopefully try to get work with our competitors).

There is another party to make happy in your educational work with your student: it is us. In addition to making students happy because you like studying with them, and making their parents happy because of good grades their kids are bringing home, you need to make us happy , and we are happy when our students learn. As professional educators, we well aware that one can prepare a student for a test, without  actually allowing the student to learn the skills he needs to continue onward in his educational career. This satisfies both the students and their parents as they are getting the grades they want, but ultimately you harm the student by not preparing him to understand the future material he will need.  We do not tolerate such practices and consider it cheating our clients; as such we will regularly check in to see how a student is learning, not just how satisfied his parents may be, so do not be surprised with our quality control measures.
